Great new headset from Turtle Beach that provides excellent full stereo sound quality. The X12 is the new version of the X11 a widely popular Xbox360 headset. The X12 has made some great improvements over its predecessor including variable bass boost, microphone monitoring so you can hear what you are saying, and they also increased the speaker size by 25%. It contains a built in amplifier adds more bass and cleaner sound than traditional headsets.
The headset connects by either 3.5mm jacks or by USB making it ideal for the cross-platform gamer. Along with upgrading the sound portion of the headset Turtle Beach has upped the comfort factor by adding more padding to the head band and ear cups as well as moving the speakers back to stop them from pressing on the users ears. The flexible microphone and adjustable head band allows the gamer to customize their fit ensuring the most comfortable playing experience.

For some reaosn, I have gone through 3 of these headsets. They are the cheapest ones out there, and usually don’t last more than 2 months or so for me. The only reaosn I like them is because the mute button is conveniently located at the base of the controller, making it easy to turn your voice on and off with your thumb. The bad part is that this headset is extremely cheap. One of them the wiring came out and stopped working completely, another one the microphone stopped transmitting my voice, but I could still hear people through the headphones. And the one I have now works but randomly. I should probably just get the original xbox 360 headset for $10 more .
This reveiw is from: This does not come with a USB hook up. I’m personally happy about that. It frees up my other two USB ports. It comes with a two pronged hook-up, for the microphone port and the headphone port. You can plug in just one or both, depending on your needs. Just make sure you have a mic and headphones port on your computer, the small round ones. (I don’t know the technical term.) If I just want to listen to music, I can use the headset alone. If I just need the mic, I can unplug the headphone jack from the port and have my computer’s sound come through the speakers. The mic still functions. It’s very comfortable, unlike some headphones. I can wear it for hours and forget I have it on. The sound is great, and the microphone seems to work well for my gaming needs. One tiny negative would be that it encloses your ears completely. So hearing the sounds around you can be somewhat difficult. That can be a positive as well, though, since it blocks out other noises. Over all, this is a great uncomplicated device. I plugged it in, and it worked!
