Half Life fans sent Valve an iconic message yesterday as they bombarded the developers Facebook page with pictures of crowbars. and some went as far as to send an actual crowbar
. For those that don’t know the crowbar is Gordon Freeman’s main melee weapon in Half Life, Valves flagship series, and it has become an iconic symbol of the game.
The operation started from a simple thread on the Steam Forums asking for members to send Valve a crowbar as a way of encouraging them to release information about the highly anticipated Half Life 3. While the act doesn’t seem to have any malicious intent, it has created quite a stir in the gaming community. Fans have been ever so critical of Valves development style even creating the widely adopted Valve Time, which translates what Valve actually means when they say “next week”. Knowing Valves sense of humor though I am looking forward to a picture of Amazon boxes stacked to the ceiling filled with alien bashing metal prying sticks.
